Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Sustainable transport solutions is a broad area and consists of many parts. The section Autonomous Systems Development consists of seven groups and are focusing on onboard technology and software for self-driving vehicles. We are developing a high end computational system and the latest technology for radars, cameras and laser scanners. On top of the computational system we are also developing the software needed for self-driving vehicles using traditional algorithms as well as newer techniques like deep neural networks. We have a great challenge before us and our section is an important part of Scania's shift towards sustainable transport solutions!

Assignment

Your assignment will be to take the responsibility as first line manager for the group Autonomy Control Systems. The group is responsible for the computational system, meaning the high end control units and software architecture for self-driving vehicles. The technology spans from traditional control units to the front end embedded computers with a performance unlike anything we have put in a truck or a bus before. The work involves a close collaboration with SW and sensor developing teams at our department as well as teaming up with suppliers to develop the HW needed for our computational system. Since the systems and architecture for autonomy must be well integrated in our vehicles you will also have a lot of interfaces to colleagues at Scania outside of our department.

In your position as first line manager you are leading the strategical work for the group. You are responsible for the recruitment, development and coaching of your employees as well as forming the improvement work within your group.

You will work closely with the other managers within Autonomous Systems Development. We have a tight collaboration in the management team and together we form the strategies to take on our mission to build the best autonomous systems in the world.

Your profile

You are a natural and proven leader with strong management skills and you want to develop your leadership continuously. You have a lot of enthusiasm and the ability to see people and their potential to grow in current and future positions. You need to be strong in building teams, cross-functional work, be communicative, show drive and initiative and be energized by challenges.

We are looking for a can-do mentality combined with an analytical mindset and structured way of working. An interest in the customer is important. To fit the expectations of the role we think you:

  • have at least two years of managerial and leadership experience
  • feel highly motivated by the mission and challenges within Autonomous Systems Development
  • are interested and experienced in embedded system development

Good knowledge of English is required. Good knowledge of Swedish is an advantage. Knowledge about Scania and Scania´s methods and processes is meritorious.

If you are interested and feel that you have a fair share of what is mentioned above, then please apply!
