Connected Intelligence is a group within Connected Systems at Scania R&D, with the mission to make information and insights on current and future transport system behaviour available to both company internal as well as external stakeholders.
We fully indulge in the opportunities and challenges available in the area of modern data science, applying conventional as well as developing original algorithms to solve the questions investigated. We aim to work in cross functional teams that apply agile working methods to deliver repeatable and quality assured results through self-sustained analytics services.
We are now hiring developers and data scientists that want to be a part of developing end-to-end solutions for transport system definition and evaluation, in the context of our 300 000+ connected vehicles. In practice this means to model system behaviour and turn our knowledge of vehicles, connectivity and the transport industry into insights that can accelerate the shift towards a more sustainable energy system for transportation, and/or understand how this system as a whole transforms towards automation.
Since the focus are is expanding from smaller initiatives to a full team, you will have a great degree of freedom in forming the solutions and technology stack that will be applied. Furthermore, the exact scope of your role can be tailored towards personal interest and capabilities.
You are motivated by working for a bigger picture in a team where collaboration, innovation and exploration are common drivers. You approach complex challenges by finding short-term goals that take you closer one step at the time, and find the means to validate assumptions as you go along. In addition to that, we expect that:
- You have formal training and/or experience in an area that relates to either data science, data visualization or data engineering.
- You take equal joy in focused work in your domain, as you do in taking solutions all the way to production and operation in real surroundings. If you have previous experience of these matters they have made you a pragmatic software developer, that prioritize and value automation and testing.
- You communicate fluently in English in both speech and writing.Experience from big data, geospatial analytics and/or software development (cloud) is meritorious.
