Would you like to contribute to a better environment and be part of the technical forefront for vehicle exhaust emission control? - Apply for the position;
Development engineer in exhaust aftertreatment - Catalysts and Particulate Filters.

The Team

The group Catalyst and Filter performance consists of seven development engineers and a PhD student, with responsibility for the performance and function of the reduction of hazardous emissions such as NOx and particles. We are now looking for you who would like to be part of the team that is working on the exciting development of the next generation exhaust aftertreatment system.

About the position

The work consists of testing, data evaluation and calibration of the exhaust aftertreatment, both as a system and on a component level. Most of the test work is done in engine test cells, but testing is also performed in rig, truck and bus. The work is an iterative and dynamic process where many variables should be optimized simultaneously. Everything from catalyst specific properties - such as NOx reduction, to demands on life length, robustness and our customers total economy is considered in the performed optimisation work.

The exhaust aftertreatment is an integrated part of the driveline, and both influences and is influenced by the engine. Thus, the work is done in close cooperation with colleges working with engine performance, design and the control system, as well as with suppliers of catalysts and particle filters. With the help of genuine cross-functional work you deliver the bases so Scania can choose the best components, so the engine and aftertreatment can be controlled in a robust manner, so we can certify that the system fulfils both present and coming environmental legislations.

Your qualifications

You should have a masters in engineering, within physics, chemistry or similar. You should have knowledge in data analyses, and experience in scripting with python, as well as previous experience in practical work within testing. Knowledge about catalysts, particle filters and internal combustion engines are merits. Business knowledge and experience in working with suppliers are also merits. Additionally, we would be positive if you have a driving license.

As a person you like the variation between practical work with testing and data analyses. You have the capability to consider the whole system and its integration, without losing sight of the details. You like complex challenges and you are interested in learning new things.

You should be fluent in English, both written and oral. Swedish is a merit.
