In GAIA, Ericsson's Global AI Accelerator department, Visions are born, new Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications are invented and production-ready data pipelining solutions are developed.

    • In 5G networks, AI and ML are essential to deliver much better performance than today and to utilize the potentials of edge compute. Efficient data infrastructure is key to make it possible.

    • The market is moving very fast and the right choices must be made. We are pushing digitalization of Ericsson and the Industry. How to optimize the data architecture? How to keep data secure through multiple data centers?
  • Work with the latest technical challenges and ensure world-leading performance in our customer's network?
    • Did the theory pay off? Are our networks best for huge Super Bowl events in USA and for high speed trains in Japan?
    • We are optimizing the infrastructure to power 5G networks and services with data from a wide variety of sources. Creation of solutions through data insights, Re-designing of our company's dataOps and Assembling data sets that meet business requirements are in focus. Innovation is key!
  • Work with world-class data scientists, data and radio engineers?
    • Constantly improve your competence together with highly skilled and motivated colleagues. Engage with academia, technology vendors and open-source communities to develop the skills and technology portfolio for MI's needs.
  • Develop your leadership skills?
    • Have a central role with and work towards strategic customers and many parts of Ericsson, such as Sales, Customer units, Ericsson Research and Design Units.

To be successful in the role you must have:

Core Competence
  • BSc, MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems or equivalent
  • 5 years' experience in data engineering
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Experience building ‘big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • Experience from building processes supporting data transformation, and workload management
  • Knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and scalable ‘big data' data stores
  • Experience in Data warehouse design and dimensional modeling
  • Contributor or owner of GitHub repo
  • 3-5 years' experience using following software/tools:
    • NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Solr, MongoDB, etc..
    • Tools/software for big data processing such as Hadoop, Spark
    • Handling data streams with tools such as Flink, Spark-Streaming, Kafka or Storm
    • Data and Model pipeline tools such as Azkaban, Luigi. Airflow or Dataiku.
    • Docker containers, orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes) and job schedulers
    • Serverless architectures (e.g. Lambda, Kinesis, Glue)
    • Microservices and REST APIs
    • SQL and traditional RDBMS systems
    • Programming and scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, GO etc.
  • Experience in leading projects in the field of data engineering
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge
  • Leadership interest and skills
  • Outgoing and easy to cooperate
