Our Exciting Opportunity

Development System and Environment (DSE) is part of BA Digital Services R&D, Portfolio and Strategy. We build and manage a compelling state of the Art Development System and Development Environment (design, test and deploy) that give Ericsson a competitive advantage.

We are now looking for a highly ambitious and senior Cloud engineer with leading skills to join our Shared Telecom Services (STS) program that will provide technical service and support to our customers. In this role, you will fix and resolve problems to stabilize and optimize the customer/User networks. You will configure and integrate different nodes and solutions and provide End-two-End remote infrastructure to Ericsson regions and external parties/partners, deployment and/or support of products within the Cloud domain, and plans and operates the software and hardware solutions for our internal R&D/Product Development Unit users.

We prefer a candidate that has a strong competence and experience within Ericsson 5GC (VNF and CNF) products on Cloud and knowledge about IMS products.

This position reports to the Head of DevOps.

You will

work in a DevOps team and have a chance to work with the newest technology by deploying/ configuring/ maintaining the necessary Ericsson 5GC network nodes on cloud setup. The STS Engineer typically interacts with borate, and communicate in the international environment, both with colleagues internally as well as customers. One of the main tasks will also be ensuring customer satisfaction and successful handling and reporting of technical problems.

We are looking for a technical person with good communication skills, focusing on understanding issues, asking the right questions. Someone with Cloud networking competence to troubleshoot software defined networks and Customer Service request handling. Ideal candidate has a solution oriented approach, cooperating with Cloud networking design and is eager to learn to use and test new cloud technologies.

To be successful in the role you have

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or extensive experience in related area
  • Experience in Cloud technologies (OpenStack, Kubernetes/Docker) and Virtualization platforms (VMWare, VirtualBox)
  • Deep knowledge about Ericsson Cloud Domain and products like SW CEE (Cloud Execution Environment), CCD (Cloud Container Distribution), SDN (Software Defined Networking)
  • Good knowledge (installation/operation/integration/support) about all or a subset of the Ericsson Telecom products e.g. Converged Core (IMS) or UDM (User Data Management)
  • Understanding of cloud-native and microservice technologies
  • IT Processes, IT Tools & Infrastructure knowledge
  • Experience in Native and Virtualized nodes
  • Passion and engagement for constantly making things better
  • Experience in troubleshooting
  • Proficient English skills


Additional Requirements

  • Configuration management (Puppet, Ansible) experience
  • DevOps tools (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins) experience
  • VOLTE and Ericsson Cloud Solution knowledge
  • Knowledge in IMS signaling scenarios (Registration, SIP2SIP calls)
