Our Exciting Opportunity

The Digital Radio Implementation team is one of several units responsible for the development of new radio hardware products within Ericsson for GSM, WCDMA, LTE, 5G and future standards. The team is involved in all parts of the product development process; technical studies, research, pre-development and designs for high volume products.

The main technical responsibility for this team is antenna near signal processing blocks implemented in ASIC, FPGA and/or structured ASIC circuits. As part of these activities, we support an FPGA based test platform that is used for verification and validation activities of our advanced radio algorithms. We are looking for a person to be part of driving our test bed for these activities forward and to drive the test bed forward!

This position reports to the Manager Development Unit Networks (DNEW) Radio.

You will

  • Act as an internal field application engineer (FAE) supporting teams using the FPGA based test platform
  • Write RTL code, functional simulation, debugging, synthesis, timing closure, and hands-on integration verification in a lab environment
  • Collaborate with Hardware/Software/Systems/Integration Radio development teams, to understand how the test bed can be used in their applications
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of products, tools and processes
  • Direct and develop the next generation test bed architecture
  • Write and maintain user documentation

To be successful in the role you have

  • A master's degree, or PhD, in electrical engineering, engineering physics or similar work experience
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated ability and a proven track record of successfully delivering many complex RTL designs targeting large FPGAs
  • Knowledge of simulation, synthesis (e.g. Synplify, Synopsys DC), timing analysis and place & route (e.g. ISE, Vivado, Quartus)
  • Gigabit transceiver knowledge
  • Proficiency in English

Additional requirements

  • Xilinx Ultrascale (+) and MPSoC experience
  • Experience in Radio signal processing
  • Experience with embedded SW (preferably on Xilinx VITIS and A53/Microblaze) in C
  • Knowledge of the JESD204B protocol
  • Experience with version control tools (e.g. Clearcase, GIT)
