About the organization

Public Safety and Industries are worldwide modernizing their communication from legacy Land Mobile Radio to Mission Critical Push to Talk (MCPTT) over LTE/5G including several new broadband applications over LTE/5G. All these Mission Critical Applications (MCA) will enable new revenue streams for operators.

In Product Development Group (PDG) MCA we provide a solution that includes Mission Critical Push to Talk (MCPTT) Application Servers and MCPTT Clients. We are just about to launch with major customers and in parallel we plan for the next generation, which will integrate the Ericsson IMS Core into the solution.

The PDG belongs to Product Development Unit (PDU) Converged Core (PDU CC). The PDU has around 950 employees globally and an additional 450 staff at suppliers. Apart from being a market leader in IMS, the PDU is also developing new offerings related to Enterprise, Entitlement and Device security in collaboration with partners such as Apple, Samsung and Google.

Today Mission Critical Applications development is in Gothenburg, Mumbai and Barcelona.

Our Exciting Opportunity

We are now recruiting MCA Security System Test Engineer. As MCA Security tester, you will work in a global test team responsible for E2E verification of the MCPTT solution. Verification is done in a full E2E environment including MCPTT server, EPC, RAN, BDC, SAPC, and UEs with the MCPTT client.

You will

  • Perform security verification
  • Work within the E2E verification team
  • Contribute in creating a strategy and test plan for security testing
  • Generate security improvements in Processes, methods, and tools for the team
  • Verify our solution from security point of view
  • Share on-the-job competence to team members in methodology, tools and good practices for security testing
  • Be responsible to evaluate and develop necessary tools for VA
  • Participate in Ericsson's security communities

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Good knowledge on test methodologies for security testing such as VA analysis, Ethical Hacking, AAA-testing, GDPR-testing, Certificate handling in a system, VA-testing
  • Good knowledge of security and privacy principles e.g. Certificate handling, encryption, authentications, secure protocols (SSL, TLS, etc.)
  • Experience from security testing
  • Experience in working with people and networking
  • An innovating, adapting and responding to change attitude
  • Experience in delivering results and meeting customer expectations
  • Planning and Organizing skills
  • Experience in virtualized environment such as CentOS, VMware and RHOS
  • 3+ years experience
