Our Exciting Opportunity

Ericsson Research Cloud Systems and Platforms is looking for a driven and creative researcher to join our team. In this role you will work with 5G and 6G standardisation professionals, defining the future of mobile communication.

Our team collaborates with research teams from around the world. From prototyping solutions for identified upcoming business needs to investigating the ramifications of future computing concepts, we work with internal researchers, with product development, and often in close collaboration with academic institutions.

Our work involves creating IPR, offer insights, and provide cloud related expertise to impact Ericsson business and products, enabling the journey to 5G and beyond.

Our research involves studying the application infrastructure of distributed systems, from device and edge to cloud, where applications have varying requirements on scalability, resilience, and performance.

You will

  • Represent Ericsson as a delegate in 3GPP
  • Contribute to 3GPP standardisation work
  • Develop and drive new 5G features in 3GPP
  • Communicate results internally and externally


To be successful in the role you must have

  • A master's degree or equivalent, a PhD, or a Licentiate degree, in a technical area
  • Outstanding communication skills and networking ability
  • Analytical thinking combined with a healthy dose of creativity
  • The ability to express and demonstrate ideas, to acquire and apply new knowledge, and to transfer this to others
  • Industry understanding, ability to develop strategies and prioritize activities
  • Excellent networking, collaboration, communication and innovation skills with high energy and motivation
  • Experience working with industrial applications and their APIs
