Our Exciting Opportunity

We are looking for a Radio Access System Designer to do conceptual design and software development work for radio access testbeds. We develop these testbeds to demonstrate cellular functionality and show technical leadership!

Our focus is on proof-of-concept development to try out our visions for future cellular networks, including traffic, management and deployment aspects. The results are used for strategic product decisions as well as demonstration of technical ability in direct and indirect communication with our customers. Most of the work is organized in design teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing are standard practice.

Your responsibilities will include design of solutions and algorithms for novel cutting-edge radio access systems. The algorithms are first tried out via reference simulations for later deployment in the testbed hardware. The results will be presented to interest groups inside Ericsson and to customers.

You will

  • Work in an innovative team with excellent proficiencies, eager to support each other
  • Develop algorithms and methods for cellular communication
  • Design, implement and test structured, embedded SW for real-time applications

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Experience in SW and system design, with a few years of experience, but we will also consider new Licentiate or PhD graduates. We desire at least an M.Sc. or equivalent degree
  • Good analytical skills and curiosity to explore new technologies
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English, and the ability to formulate problems and solutions, because these will contribute to good collaboration within your work team.
  • The willingnes to interacti with others and apply a balanced mix of give and take which helps to build a good contact network
  • Good understanding of wireless communication and the technologies applied there
  • Passionate interest in real-time critical software development and ability to take a holistic perspective, i.e. understanding the complete radio access network. Regardless of background, the ability for "outside-the-box" thinking is encouraged
