Our Exciting Opportunity

We are looking for an Infrastructure Architect to work with strategic directions of Big-Data and Analytics. Work will be in a globally scalable ground-breaking solutioning in operations support. The role entails being the architect to analyze, design & develop and support end-to-end solutions. Working closely with business development and operations teams to translate customer needs into detailed technical offerings, solutions and proposals!

The role also provide support in identifying existing data gaps, building new data pipelines, and providing automated solutions to deliver sophisticated analytical capabilities, design and implement complex computer systems and offer infrastructure services that support the organization's operations.

You will address any issues related to ICT, including security and performance, and take charge of the hardware specification, software installation, testing and service transition. The architect will identify potential technology innovations and engage with businesses to handle incidents, changes, upgrades, performance, and availability management.

When selecting technologies and building the big-data and analytics platform, the architect needs to consider not only the functional requirements, but also the non-functional attributes of platform quality such as security, usability, and stability. As our big-data architect, you will plan, design, and supervise these key characteristics of the platform to help ensure that it aligns with enterprise standards and that it performs adequately as new functions and solutions are on-boarded.

You will
  • Provide thought leadership and drive architecture and the design of Big-Data and analytics platforms and solutions.
  • Ensure effective design and development of system architectures through embedded Enterprise Architects; employing effective governance methods for transparency and communication.
  • Design and implement scalable Big-Data solutions for various application needs.
  • Analyze multiple sources of structured and unstructured data to propose and design data solutions for scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and elasticity.
  • Set architectural vision and direction across a matrix of teams and solutions.
  • Develop conceptual, logical and physical design for large volumes of various data types.
  • Ensure that the data and infrastructure is protected using the appropriate security controls.
  • Assist other architects in the design and implementation of high-performance systems with large volume data ingestion processes, database, storage and provisioning.
  • Collaborate with others in a professional manner and be a trusted go to person.


To be successful in the role you must have
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with big-data ecosystems and technologies. Specifically hands-on experience with one or more major Hadoop distributions and various ecosystem components, e.g. Spark, Impala, HBase.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with web technologies and building enterprise architectures.
  • A good hold on designing, integrating, and handling complex, large-scale, and data-centric infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience in crafting and developing high-demand transactional data ingestion solutions.
  • Experience from working with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Fluency with relational database concepts and dimensional modeling for analytic decision support.
  • Must be knowledgeable in software development lifecycles/methodologies (agile/waterfall).
  • Great analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven attitude and ability to work autonomously with little support


Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Systems information technology or related field.
