5G is rolling out, and Ericsson is the leader in bringing it to the market! With a commercially position in 5G, Ericsson is investing heavily in further improving the position as technology leader.

Radio Systems & Technology drives radio product and technology evolution, high level systemization, architecture definition, standardization, mid- and long-term development plans, and long-term product plans (products and features) for Product Development Unit Radio.

The Radio Architecture and Technology team is now looking for an experienced radio ASIC designer or a person with proven radio communication background that wants to take the next step in your career and become our next Radio ASIC System Designer! You will help us systemize our future radio system-on-chip ASICs.

Both performance and functional aspects will be part of the systemization work. You will work with ASICs in different parts of the radio signal processing, from L1 beamforming ASICs to digital front-end ASICs and mixed-signal RF ASICs.

The systemization of radio ASICs is an inherently sophisticated design task. Radio performance and functional aspects must be considered, at the same time as taking all aspects of cost, reuse, and portfolio optimization into account.

You will
  • Systemize Ericsson future 5G & 6G Radio system-on-chip ASICs
  • Contribute to the future vision and technology evolution of Ericsson 5G & 6G Radio products and Network solutions.
  • Manage Radio ASIC systemization task.
  • Work actively with technology strategy to facilitate a fast-moving market where the right choices constantly must be made.
  • Work in a highly innovative team consisting of some of the most experienced radio system engineers in the world.
  • Work with groundbreaking technology and world leading radio product and networks performance, contributing to Ericsson's technology leadership.
  • Develop your leadership skills by having a central role with and work towards many other parts of Ericsson, such as sales, customer units all over the world, Ericsson Research and Design.

You will in this role report to Section Manager-Architecture &Technology.

To be successful in the role you must have
  • A Master or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering / Applied Physics / Telecommunication, Embedded Systems, or equivalent.
  • Extensive background in Radio ASIC design, so similar relevant area.
  • Knowledge of Radio access technologies (WCDMA, LTE, NR), especially in the areas of Radio system design.
  • Knowledge of computer architectures, high speed interfaces, clock distribution, mixed-signal design, and ASIC implementation limitations
  • Knowledge about different semiconductor technologies, CMOS, RF CMOS, FD-SOI, etc.
  • Knowledge about embedded system design
  • Good understanding of RAN architecture and its breakdown into radio & baseband.
  • Ability to work with both short-term and long-term objectives, involving the big picture as well as implementation details.
  • Good presentation skills and understanding for the value of working as a team towards common goals.
