5G is rolling out, and Ericsson is the leader in bringing it to the market. With a commercially strong position in 5G, Ericsson is investing heavily in further improving the position as technology leader!

Radio Systems & Technology drives radio product and technology evolution, high level systemization, architecture definition, standardization, mid- and long-term development plans, and long-term product plans (products and features) for Product Development Unit Radio.

The Radio Architecture and Technology team is now looking for an experienced Radio designer or a person with proven radio communication background that wants to take the next step in your career and become our next Radio System Architect.! You will help us design, describe and evolve our future Radio architecture in all our radio product segments. Both performance and functional aspects must be considered, including solutions for new frequency bands.

In this position you will be working to address questions like what solution will build most value for our customers and to answer if a particular performance gain is worth the increased product cost.

You will
  • Contribute into the future vision and technology evolution of Ericsson 5G & 6G Radio products.
  • Manage and design Ericsson's future Radio system architecture.
  • Work in a highly innovative team consisting of some of the most experienced radio system engineers in the world.
  • Work with groundbreaking technology and world leading radio product and networks performance, contributing to Ericsson's technology leadership.
  • Develop your leadership skills by having a central role with and work towards many other parts of Ericsson globally, such as sales, customer units all over the world, Ericsson Research and Design.

You will in this role report to Section Manager-Architecture &Technology.

To be successful in the role you must have
  • A Masters or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering / Applied Physics / Telecommunication / Embedded Systems, or equivalent.
  • Documented design background in one of the following: Radio HW, Radio SW, Embedded Systems, Radio Access Networks, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Radio access technologies (WCDMA, LTE, NR), especially in the areas of Radio system design.
  • Experience of driving future visions and strategies.
  • Good understanding of RAN architecture and its breakdown into radio & baseband.
  • Ability to work with both short-term and long-term objectives, involving the big picture as well as implementation details.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills and understanding the value of working as a team towards common goals.
