Packet core in Business Area Digital Services (BDGS) develop and deliver packet core solution for mobile networks. With us you'll be part in shaping the next generation Mobile Data and the Engineering Environments we use to develop our products. We enable millions of simultaneous connected mobile users while handling traffic from IoT to 4K video in Gbit speeds. Ericsson BDGS is becoming the partner of choice of Telecom operators using the newest technologies in cloud and automation to manage complexity so the ambitious can differentiate with TCO efficient solutions for programmable 4G and 5G networks, automated operations and digital engagements.

We are currently looking for an Area Product Owner (APO) for "Engineering Environment - Early Phases" in Packet Core.

The APO role is to maximize return of investment for their area by focusing on alignment, reusability and technology leadership while translating business value into realization.

Engineering Environment is the area that includes development and simulated testing (Early Phases) and full system test equipment (Late Phases) used to develop the Packet Core product portfolio PCC, PCG, SGSN-MME, EPG, WMG, AAT and more. We are in a big transformation of the engineering environment from traditional local environments to new modern CI machineries at the same time as our product portfolio is evolving. You will take part in leading this transformation and form our future for developers, infrastructure and tools.

We use methods and principles from Lean and Agile methodologies to create a product that excels. Early customer and partner interactions are key elements in our development process. We rely on team collective responsibility to finish the tasks according to prioritized backlogs. One of your tasks is to set priorities according to business needs.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Driving the strategy for the area in the shift to the new CI machineries for product development
  • Giving input to business decisions and product strategy for dedicated area to motivate investment as part of product business case
  • Ensuring translation of business requirements to efficient ICT solutions for development
  • Being the relation builder with partners in product development
  • Driving roadmap, overall backlog and prioritization in the area
  • Responsible for area transformation and long-term evolvement
  • Ensuring that major system improvements are prioritized
  • Guiding, coach and support

As an APO you drive the work through the Operational Product Owners (OPO's) for the different environment and tools teams in your domain.


  • Deep understanding of CI, ICT and SW development equipment.
  • Superb communication skills.
  • Great teammate and good people skills.
  • Being able to take decisions and lead change.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Product Owner or similar.
  • Driving commitments with high energy

Furthermore, as our APO's are leaders in the organization and around the teams, it is important for you to have a high interest in people, processes and technologies.

We also believe you are passionate about Continuous Integration and your competence will help us evolve in this area.
