Our Exciting Opportunity

Systems Test Plants & Network Infrastructure is one of the sectors in Development Service and Infrastructure unit. The vision of this sector is to provide stable and cost-efficient Test Environment instantly, to gain the highest developer happiness. We do it through pro-activeness, i.e. Proactive HW provisioning, Build avoidance and High quality Systems Test Plants and Network solutions, including a state of the art User Equipment environment (UE).

We are now looking for a UE Module Developer to our UE team. Your responsibilities will include development activities such as: hardware design, software design, integration, verification, Product Lifecycle Management support and product documentation. You will be a part of a team that are accountable for Supply, Test & Support and R&D in the UE area. You will mainly contribute in the R&D area.

You will

  • Provide a critical key component to our test organization which empower our testers to do the best testing and verification of Ericsson products.
  • Develop, maintain and support the UE modules and UE infrastructure.
  • Drive the development on the real UE test module to reach a world class stage.
  • Provide 3d line support existing UE module installations, and to the build team (supply).
  • Support, assist and provide training in UE module to EST and test organizations.
  • Create and provide tools for UE module support.
  • Automate monitoring and maintenance for better stability and service uptime.
  • Develop/Evaluate new UE modules (5G modems, platforms and methods).
  • Develop/Maintain CI testing for UE module SW and HW.
  • Develop new Massive IoT test platform (Compact PCI).
  • Evaluate material and material vendors related to UE modules.
  • Drive continuous improvements of products and processes.
  • Drive strategic technical leadership.
  • Perform continuous analysis and requirement handling.

To be successful in the role you must have

  • A degree in Engineering, IT or Telecommunications, or equivalent.
  • Experience in telecom technology and strong UE capability understanding.
  • Experience in modems such as Sierra, Quectel and Simcom.
  • Experience in different ARM32/64 SBC boards running Linux (and handling of uBoot and kernel issues)
  • Experience in lab environment, RF installations, UE rack build and configurations.
  • Experience to tackle tasks with shell scripts and Python scripts
  • Basic understanding to access and handle eNB and gNBs in real network environments
  • Having good understanding in mobile technologies like GSM, GPRS, 3-5G.
  • Track record in bringing structure to complex areas, simplifying the complex and securing alignment and delivery by collaborating across the organization.
  • Shown passion for the area of development infrastructure/development environment/production architecture.
  • Attitude of driving innovation, adopting and inspiring change.
  • Business understanding.
  • Innovating, adapting and responding to change.
  • Product development knowledge and Product Lifecycle Management knowledge.
  • Ability to delivering results and meeting customer expectations.
  • Customer orientation.
