Our Exciting Opportunity!

Product Development Unit (PDU) Cloud RAN within Development Unit Networks (DNEW) will ensure Ericsson's readiness in virtualization of radio access network (RAN) solutions and complement our embedded RAN portfolio in order to serve our customers when deploying 5G.

PDU Cloud RAN is building a full stack virtualization of the 5G NR CU (Central Unit) and DU (Distributed Unit) based on COTS HW and cloud-native technologies

In this newly formed unit, we embrace a start-up mentality to deliver a product with great customer experience and increased organizational efficiency making creative and out-of-the box employees an excellent fit.

In the Cloud RAN Reference System and Deployment team we are growing, looking for skilled persons with various experiences in Cloud Native products. We are searching for people who are eager to join us on our journey to build something truly exciting!

We offer an environment where You will be part of a team bringing the solutions, from systemization to product introduction and release, taking an end-to-end product responsibility.

You are an upbeat individual with experience in introducing new solutions into our customers' networks and driving POCs, demos and other pre-sales activities. You are eager to engage with our Customers, Solution Introduction and deployment and Sales Support!

You will be responsible for:

  • Development and running of Proof of Concepts, trials towards our customers.
  • Providing technical support as we introduce / deploy our new Cloud RAN solutions to our customers.
  • Test and troubleshoot customer configurations
  • Drive problem resolution to completion with the relevant development teams.
  • Taking the customer view and driving "serviceability" improvements into our Cloud RAN Solution, focusing on usability and troubleshooting capabilities.


To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • MSc or BSc level in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent level of knowledge
  • Experience in any of the following areas - Virtualization, Container technologies e.g Kubernetes
  • Experience in troubleshooting RAN
  • Basic understanding of SW architecture and agile methods and continuous integration.
  • Great competence in scripting language e.g Python
  • Linux background
  • Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals is a plus
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills and possess a can-do demeanor
  • Great communicating skills, including excellent speaking and writing skills in English
