As the tech firm that created the mobile world, and with more than 54,000 patents to our name, we've made it our business to make a mark. When joining our team at Ericsson you are empowered to learn, lead and perform at your best, shaping the future of technology. This is a place where you're welcomed as your own perfectly unique self, and celebrated for the skills, talent, and perspective you bring to the team. Are you in?

Come, and be where it begins.

Our Exciting Opportunity

We are a system design team located in Lund, Sweden that works on concepts and network solutions for the next generation cellular systems. Are you interested in working on 5G and 6G technology with a horizon of 2-5 years prior to commercial products and enjoy the possibility to participate in creating the network vision? Then this may be the opportunity for you!

We are looking for a Radio Access Researcher to do conceptual design, and to coordinate and drive trial activities. We usually conduct this as scenario studies, and joint trial activities with selected partners and customers.

Our focus is on concepts and visions for future cellular networks, including traffic, management and deployment aspects. The study and trial results are used for strategic product decisions as well as for providing guidelines and advice in direct and indirect communication with our customers. Most of the work is organized in Technical teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of the daily work.

You will

Your responsibilities will include the development of new concepts and solutions, and validation of those in relevant practical trials. The work will include coordination with other internal departments as well as external customers and partners. You will analyze the result and summarize them in written reports, typically in presentation format. The results will be presented to interest groups inside Ericsson and sometimes also to external parties, such as customers and universities.

To be successful in the role

  • We are looking for someone interested and experienced in cellular technology with several years of market experience. You should have at least an M.Sc. or equivalent degree but a Lic or Ph.D. degree is preferred.
  • We believe that you have strong moderation and coordination skills and are curious to explore new technology.
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English and the ability to formulate problems and solutions will contribute to good collaboration within your work team. You enjoy the interaction with others and apply a balanced mix of give and take. This helps to build a good contact network, both internally and externally.
  • We are looking for someone with good understanding of wireless communication and the technologies applied there.
  • We expect a candidate to have a strong desire for a holistic perspective, eager to address the full end-to-end use cases. Regardless of background, the ability for "outside-the-box" thinking is encouraged. We are eager to get applicants from diverse backgrounds, including culture, age and gender.

What´s in it for you?

Here at Ericsson, our culture is built on over a century of courageous decisions. With us, you will no longer be dreaming of what the future holds - you will be redefining it. You won't develop for the status quo, but will build what replaces it.
