With 5G and Cloud computing as catalysts the enterprise infrastructure is evolving very quickly. In order to meet demand for growing co-operation with enterprise and service provider customers with and thru public cloud partners we are looking for Director Technical Cloud Engagements and eco-system co-operation. Developing use-cases with enterprise partners, operators and cloud providers.

Your tasks will be to act as the lead for long term technical engagements in edge computing, cloud transformation and cloud migration. You will have a key role in defining how to operate with partners from a technical architecture perspective as well as business perspective. Actively engaging in prof of concept with lead customers and contribute to related standardization efforts. The unit works closely with Business & Markets Areas across the globe. The role will also include a high degree of interactions with customers, partners, and suppliers.

The position is in Kista (but location is flexible) and you will report to the Head of Architecture & Portfolio Mattias Rimbark.

You will

  • Drive key requirements across the cloud eco-system to secure ease of deployment and outstanding performance for Ericsson workloads
  • Drive selected standardization and open source engagements relevant for the area.
  • Drive customer engagement programs in relation to cloud and edge deployment scenarios.

An important part of the role is also to interact with industry partners to enable an excellent Ericsson Technology supply.

The position holder's responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
  • Identify the need-, drive-, and participate in-, cloud architecture evolution studies in the cloud and enterprise application domain
  • Participate in- and advise industry and standardization decision bodies within Ericsson, and thus driving the implementation architecture evolution view in to our Statement of Directions (SoD's) for open source and other industry engagement.
  • Take part in customer and partner discussions on technology and implementation architecture evolution to drive the Ericsson position and acquire relevant feedback.
  • When applicable participate in architecture governance bodies across the Ericsson organization and there contribute to a sound and aligned implementation architecture.
  • Engage in Technology Strategy work

To be successful in the role we expect you to have

  • M.Sc. in Computer Science or relevant similar education
  • More than 10 years' work experience with Cloud and Virtualization technology
  • Proven authority in cloud technologies
  • Experience from open source project and standards work (experience of open source / standard technical coordination is a strong merit)
  • Experience from working as a Senior Expert, Distinguished Engineer or Technical fellow or similar
  • Experience from a company with Enterprise business and channel sales.
  • Good Leadership and communication skills
  • Skills in influence using Technology Competence
  • Structured way of working, self-motivation and the ability to think and work independently
  • Ability to drive multi-functional cooperation in an international environment
  • Ability to work with a strategic view, i.e. with a long-term perspective
  • A good contact network within Ericsson R&D system management / Technology organizations
  • Ability to build trust with both peers and senior management and network with both Ericsson internal employees as well as with other companies and/or academia
  • Courage - Dare to take tough discussions
  • A developed business perspective
  • Proficience in English
