Our Exciting Opportunity

Our organization is part of the development of world-leading 5G Radio Base Station (RBS) functionality to the market, based on technology leadership of Ericsson RAN solutions. We develop RAN independent functionality above platform level in the RBS This includes SW for equipment/hardware management, sector, and carrier group handling, i.e. configuration of radio resources, interconnect, and antenna system control. The Technology Management (TM) unit is responsible for the SW architecture evolution of the functionalities within this domain and acts as technical leaders.

This position is for a Software Designer in our very skilled execution team in the Technology Management unit. You will in this role be a hands-on designer focusing on improving the structure and quality of our product. This includes prototyping of new techniques and solutions, creating best practices to be handed over to other parts of our organization, and improvements to the infrastructure of the product. The team together with architects at TM identifies and decides most of what to be done by the team to best meet our mission.

You will work broadly in the product, primarily in C++ and Python, and often get into new challenges and areas. As the expectation is to make development of new functionality easier in all our other teams, we are looking for a designer with broad competence in the SW domain and has an aim to improve. You see weaknesses in current software and have can propose solutions, implement, and spread solutions in the organization.

You will work together with skilled persons in an environment with high possibility for you to grow within the software field.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor or Master of Science (e.g. Science within Electrical Engineering, Data Communication, Computer Science and Engineering Software Engineering of Distributed Systems, Engineering Physics) or equivalent formal education
  • Core experience in C++, Java, and script languages
  • Strong and broad interest in software development and software architecture
  • Interest in improving
  • Like to move to next challenge and eager to try new areas
  • Confident in taking responsibility for your tasks
