Our Exciting Opportunity

Product Development Unit Radio (PDU Radio) drives the end-to-end research and development of Ericsson's radio products and solutions. We are a global organization, within Development Unit Networks (DNEW), of approximately 3,000 engineers and developers collaborating across nine sites in Canada, China and Sweden to drive Ericsson's strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G.

In mid-2019 PDU Radio launched an organizational and operational transformation to facilitate the gradual, but rapid change from radio boxes to functions and modular architectures. By improving our ways of working and organizational structure we will also:
  • Enable key technologies faster and shorten product TTM
  • Meet the portfolio demands more efficiently with better quality
  • Strengthen product architecture and systemization
  • Move from a too tactical setup towards a more strategic one
  • Develop the competence and careers of our people through a targeted People Plan.


  • About Radio Products Sweden 2 (RPSE2)

    RPSE2 drives end-to-end radio product and RF and Mixed Signal IC development. Radio product development within RPSE2 is done in Lund.

    About Radio SW Sweden 2

    The Radio SW organization within RPSE2 was started in 2020, as a part of the new organization, to provide local Radio SW support for the RPSE2 developed products. The Radio SW organization in RPSE2 is still in an early expansion face. It consists today of two SW development teams and will continue grow with two additional teams.

    About this role

    Working with the Head of RPSE2, the Manager Radio SW share site responsible for Radio SW systemizing, developing, integrating, testing radio products SW based on the site and global needs.

    The position is based in Lund and may require travel to other PDU Radio sites in Sweden, Croatia, China and Canada.

    You will

    • Manage a group of highly skilled, highly engaged SW developers, organized into two teams
    • Together with existing RPSE2 Radio SW and Common Radio Modules provide RA with the required capability
    • Actively contribute to maintaining and improving global Radio SW governance
    • Develop Radio SW together with other relevant organizations, e.g. CRM, Baseband and CAT.
    • Act as Product Guardians, Loop Guardians etc and acting on Manager responsibilities e.g. SW Characteristics, Tx, Rx, Board
    • Use and improve modules in collaboration with other organizations within and outside PDU Radio
    • Cultivate an inspiring collaboration environment


    To be successful in the role you must have

    • Strong product development background with passion for development and especially the development "craft"
    • Demonstrated hunger to deliver what the customer needs when they need it
    • Ability to support line independent program flows
    • Experience leading development teams, with strong domain knowledge, to have the needed credibility with our teams, our customers and suppliers
    • Relevant tertiary qualification or commensurate working experience.
