When joining our team at Ericsson you are empowered to learn, lead and perform at your best, shaping the future of technology. This is a place where you're welcomed as your own perfectly unique self, and celebrated for the skills, talent, and perspective you bring to the team. Are you in?

Come, and be where it begins.

Our Exciting Opportunity

Are you ready for pushing limits and be part of creating the future?

Approximately 40% of the world's mobile traffic is carried through an Ericsson network. The next generation (5G) of Radio Access Networks (RAN) and Mobile Core Networks are happening now, and Ericsson is recognized technology leader in bringing it to market. There has never been a better time for you to make your mark. The possibilities are endless across industries - from automotive and transport to agriculture, utilities, and more.

The foundation for these use cases is built through an agile cloud environment that covers a wide range of edge and central network locations. Software Defined Infrastructure is the hardware management layer that is key for enabling an agile cloud, and our team is responsible for the system and software architecture that makes this happen. The System Functions technological domain is at the heart of it all and a key area where we interact with stakeholders across the company.

What you'll do

  • Work on state-of-the-art systems and software including frameworks, technologies, and platforms
  • Be part of a multi-functional agile team with end-to-end responsibility for feature development and delivery
  • Perform continuous analysis and requirements handling
  • Drive continuous improvements of products and processes
  • Collaborate with other software developers, system testers, system engineers, and decision-makers, such as product owners and architects, to build novel solutions
  • Work includes performing conceptual system studies to support business decisions, building proofs of product as well as implementing some of the functionality together with the developers using a state-of-the art development and continuous integration environment.

To be successful in the role you must have

You love working in a small team and interact well with other people in a positive, low-ego and collaborative environment
  • You are comfortable bringing clarity and focus to widely specified assignments by interacting with the stakeholders and adapting fast to changing requirements
  • You enjoy exploring technical problem solving in creative ways and understand responsible experimentation
  • You are truly passionate about creating clean code and have a solid computer science foundation
  • You enjoy learning new technologies, move between different software stacks and helping others along the same journey

You have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent discipline, or the equivalent level of knowledge. We assume that you can speak and write in fluent English.

You need to have demonstrable hands-on experience in some of the following technologies:
  • Programming languages: Erlang (or the ability to learn it very fast by having experience in another functional programming language)
  • On-premises cloud platforms: containers, Kubernetes
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
  • Hardware management and related components and protocols (BMC, Redfish)
  • CI/CD knowledge, as this is an integral part of cloud-native development
  • Preferred domain experience from embedded systems and embedded software
