We are a small 6-unit-department with very passionate developers on the mission to build the world's best User Plane. We work in autonomous empowered teams, and we feel pride in making the world a better place, simplifying and improving the lives for billions.

For us, building mobile systems that makes remote health care and self-driving cars possible is very motivating. We are just in the beginning of our 5G journey, which will bring us even more possibilities, such as remote surgeries and unprecedented speeds.

We believe that the teams have the best knowledge in their respective areas and encourage creativity, self-organization and provide an environment for independent decision making. The teams consist of 5-7 developers each. Our office is located in the scenic and vibrant Lindholmen area in the central parts of Gothenburg just on the shore of the Göta Älv river.

Our product

We are responsible for the development and maintenance of the Packet Core User Plane. The user plane handles packet routing and forwarding in the mobile data network between internet and the radio network. All 3G, 4G and 5G mobile traffic passes through the user plane. It runs on several platforms, including carrier-grade routers, virtual machines and containers.

We are continuously trying to beat the competition. Most recent achievements include delivering 193 Gbps throughput on an Intel processor-based server which was demonstrated on the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2019.We are market leaders and with mobile traffic from more than 2 billion people passing through our products (40% of the mobile traffic in the World).

As Technical Test Coordinator, you will work closely with the development teams as well as external organizations and partners to coordinate test activities, test scope and test strategies to assure the right quality. You are involved in proactive work as responsible for test investigation in feature analysis and provide support to development teams (XFT) from test aspects in early phases. You will also actively drive changed ways of working and resource impact related to testing of new features when identified in the analysis phase. Some of the challenges are maintaining focus on priorities, communicate, inspire and be active in test related activities needed to drive the area towards the product vision.

You will

Support securing quality for the User Plane product. This by reviewing test analysis and test scope as well as coordinating test activities both inside and outside the respective local development organization. Additionally, to develop, improve and communicate cost efficient and effective test strategies, including visualization from both a short and long-term perspective. As the Technical Test Coordinator, you should also support and deploy the Test Strategy. Technical Test Coordinator concentrates on the "WHAT" to test.

  • Develop, deploy, improve, and communicate the test strategy
  • Develop and maintain test documentation templates
  • Together with Test Architect handle co-ordination and prioritization of test tools and frameworks, including test automation for feature development
  • Define guiding principles for regression and maintenance test scopes
  • Drive, in collaboration with Test Architect, the overall test analysis for larger features new hardware generations, new platforms, system critical features
  • Support in customer related questions
  • Cooperate with other organizations regarding test policies and practices

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Love testing and have a strong belief in the importance of quality assurance
  • Have the talent to see the big picture and challenge current methods and define the future of how we test our product
  • Be used to take the lead in discussions regarding scope, activities and strategies related to test
  • Want to continuously develop your knowledge through experience as well as learning, collaboration and sharing knowledge with others
  • Have the focus and ambition to understand customer needs and can transfer that to practical work and improvements.
  • Feel natural about coaching teams on how to achieve the needs necessary
  • Have a passion to continuously improve the test way of working
