Our Exciting Opportunity

Ericsson Research are looking for talented, highly motivated and hardworking ML/AI Researchers to be part of our AI Research team in Luleå, bringing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to telecom networks. We are pushing the technology frontiers in AI, combining machine learning and reasoning methods, tools, techniques and infrastructure to drive intelligent autonomous operations in large complex telecom systems.

You will

Your contributions will include developing innovative algorithms/solutions and systems to address research challenges in Artificial Intelligence with applications in 5G, Cloud and IoT, prototyping and presenting your work to the Ericsson business units, global customers, standardization groups, and at technical conferences!

As a Researcher you will build and transfer technology competence to ensure technology leadership and profitable business for Ericsson by:

  • Spearheading research in Artificial Intelligence algorithms, applications and infrastructure
  • Enable Ericsson to be outstanding delivering new value by building AI functionality and automation
  • Secure long term growth of AI competence at Ericsson Research and Ericsson

To be successful in the role you must have

  • PhD degree with thesis in one of the areas below or M.Sc/M'Tech with equivalent experience in one or more significant fields
  • Prior experience in research organizations/academia
  • Knowledge of application areas such as 5G RAN/Core, Cloud, IoT
  • Strong analytical skills, a positive approach, and ability of finding innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Proficient and skilled in implementation of researched techniques into high quality code and prototypes using popular languages, frameworks and open source SW stacks
  • Experience with patents, scientific publications, being main author and presenter at a conference
  • Open and quick to learn new technologies and open to work in adjacent areas
  • Comfortable and experienced in supervising and instructing other researchers and students
  • Good communication skills and ability to build internal and external contact network

You also have a strong background in one of the following areas:

  • Model-based AI systems, modeling and analysis of system behavior
  • Time-Series analysis
  • Deep Neural Networks
  • Reinforcement Learning
  • Model LCM
  • Distributed/Transfer/Federated Learning
  • Infrastructure for AI, ML tools and frameworks, distributed compute clusters
