Our Exciting Opportunity

This team, the Radio SoC (System-on-chip) systemization team, is heading the systemization of our Radio ASIC/SoC designs within Ericsson. The team is part of the Product development unit radio (PDU Radio), the development unit within Ericsson which is responsible for the development of the radio products. We look for enthusiastic people ready to craft the future of 5G and next generation communication. Our department grows both technology specialists and future leaders.

The radio unit is the entrance into the telecommunication network and is built around the radio System-on-chip solutions, including ASIC's (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA's (Field-Programmable Gate Array). This team is responsible for the radio systemization of these circuits.

Our assignment stretches from pre-product investigations to the end customer, and our definition of done is when we have delivered to customer with quality.

To achieve the right solutions for our customers we take advantage of the newest technology on the market, including upcoming semiconductor nodes and state of the art RF-IC solutions to achieve ground breaking solutions.

Now we are looking to strengthen our team with focus on systemization of timing and synchronization.

Your main responsibility will be the radio systemization of timing and synchronization in our SoC designs

The work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Drive the Timing and Synchronization systemization for our SoC solutions (Including the radio ASIC's)
  • Participate in the network level timing and synchronization solution studies, and follow the ongoing standardizations
  • Participate or drive radio product clock distribution studies, and identify the impacts for the radio SoC solutions
  • Participate, or drive, pre product studies and projects
  • In the projects commit to timely systemization decisions within the area
  • Create, set and document requirements for our System-on-chip designs to enable an outstanding implementation
  • Work closely with related design areas such as software and analogue radio and other system teams
  • We are working with an end-to-end mentality: strong support to design and validation teams are considered as success factors

To be successful in the role you must have

  • A master's degree, or PhD, in electrical engineering, engineering physics or similar work experience
  • 5+ years in Design & Development or system roles
  • Familiar with IEEE 1588 detailed timing protocol (PTP) and synchronous Ethernet (SyncE).
  • Experience with timing and synchronization
  • Service minded and self-motivated, with the drive to solve problems and expand ones' knowledge
  • Have a creative and innovative mentality
  • Take accountability, together with the team, for our assignments
  • Result-oriented and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Always look for ways to improve the work
  • You should be proficient in English.

In addition to this, skills that carry merit include:

  • Experience working in requirement setting and standardization
  • Leadership within radio product development
  • Experience from radio development
  • Experience in PCB design
  • RAN knowledge
  • Experience of radio function systemization and control software
  • Knowledge of radio system architecture and 3GPP Radio standardization
