Wi-Fi Mobility Gateway is Ericsson's key product to integrate the traffic from non-3GPP networks into the mobile packet core and is one of the products in the wide product portfolio that are developed by Product Development Unit (PDU) Packet Core

PDU Packet Core has main sites in 5 countries globally. China, Hungary, Germany, Spain and Sweden.

Ericsson Wi-Fi Mobility Gateway is a fully virtualized network function, cloud and hardware agnostic, with a flexible deployment footprint.

Wi-Fi Mobility Gateway adapts to different growth scenarios, where there is a need to extend 5G connectivity and voice services to Wi-Fi networks.

With nearly 40% Global market share, Ericsson Wi-Fi Mobility Gateway is a well-established product, appreciated by its high-capacity performance and security hardened features.

We at Wi-Fi Mobility Gateway actively drive technology leadership and innovation initiatives together with colleagues in the entire PDU Packet Core.

Here you would join a department developing products that allow customers to access the core of a mobile network using Wi-Fi for all Ericsson Radio and IP Networks (LTE, WCDMA, vRAN, 5G and Cloud RAN) Solutions.

As a Wi-Fi Mobility Software Developer, you will work in an agile team and be responsible for the design and blueprinting architecture, realized by the team. We focus a lot on Software architecture, product quality, continuous delivery, and integration.

You will

  • Participate in system studies and implement features according to requirements, including coding, feature testing and product documentation
  • Get the chance to work with developing IP security, routing, forwarding, 5G (WiFi, K8s, VMs, DPDK, SDN, NFV, Cloud etc.) in a Linux execution environment.
  • Be part of the Ericsson 5G technology evolution and product leadership
  • Contribute to the Cloud evolution of our Wi-Fi Mobility Gateway platform

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Education: Master of Science in Computer Science or equivalent formal education with experience in Software Programming
  • Proven track record in product development as Software Developer
  • Experienced in Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, …)
  • Experience with container technology (Docker, Kubernetes, HELM …)
  • Solid programming skills in C++/C
  • Good knowledge of Java, Python programming and Software testing
  • Solid Knowledge of design patterns
  • Very good understanding of IP protocols and routing
  • Experience in software development supporting tools (Git, JIRA, Gerrit, Jenkins)
  • Knowledge and experience with Linux operating systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in global multicultural environment
  • Self-motivated and works with minimal direction
