Our Exciting Opportunity

The objective of Ericsson Research Area Security is to provide Ericsson business and development units with security competence, architectures, solutions for platforms, networks, and services. Our research covers everything from pure cryptography, secure networking, ML/AI security, service layer and application security, identity management and privacy to methods for development and evaluation of security systems. Our focus is on new concepts and methods, patents, and standardization. Security is an area that is constantly growing in importance, both for Ericsson, and for the society at large.

In our Security Research team, we develop and drive outstanding research on security for 5G and its evolution to future 6G networks and IoT.

We are looking for a smart, forward-thinking, knowledgeable, and creative researcher to strengthen our team in security research.

You will

  • Do research and develop novel security concepts in the evolution towards 6G, in an international team of world-class researchers with different backgrounds and experiences.
  • Have a good opportunity to contribute to security Standards Developing Organizations, and do proof-of-concepts to visualize new technologies.
  • Drive own ideas and do publications in your area of responsibility, in cooperation with other researchers, potentially joint with universities and research institutes.
  • Manage and contribute to industry-related interactions and engagements with Ericsson Product Lines, and Customer Units.

To be successful in the role you must have

  • PhD degree, or equivalent, in Electrical or Computer Engineering, preferably with a specialization towards Data Networking and Communication.
  • Excellent skills in data network, network security, systems analysis, and virtualization technologies.
  • Deep technical knowledge in state-of-the-art cybersecurity and a deep understanding of security and privacy challenges in industry and society
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Outstanding networking, collaboration, communication and innovation skills with high energy and motivation.
  • Excellent analytical thinking with a high ability to understand and drive technical solutions.

Proven skills from working with security for mobile networks, analytical explanations of vulnerabilities, architectures and security protocols, is an extra merit.
