Our Exciting Opportunity !

In the Network System & Verification department within Ericsson Product Development, we are now extending our expertise in the area of RAN Energy Performance. The technical domain we drive and develop includes in the ERS (Ericsson Radio System) and ECR (Ericsson Cloud RAN) product portfolio from an end-to-end perspective. The focus is on system level solutions while taking individual characteristics of each subsystem into account.

The RAN Energy Performance Principal Developer is the main technical leader for the domain and has the responsibility to drive architecture, strategy and long-term roadmap of the domain!

You will

  • Secure that the architecture and design of Ericsson RAN product portfolio results in customer networks in line with expectations and requirements on Energy Performance
  • Drive energy performance roadmap on a technical RAN solution level, aligning different subsystem roadmaps for an overall energy efficient system solution
  • Drive the Energy Efficiency Strategy for the Ericsson RAN system solutions
  • Lead the analysis of existing solutions to identify areas of improvements and optimizations and through experiments and proof-of-concepts demonstrate new technologies and methodologies
  • Secure the needed quality level of the measurement methods and verification activities feeding back reliable input for fact-based decisions related to Energy Performance
  • Engage with high profile customers co-operating with Ericsson with focus on future increase of energy performance in Ericsson RAN product portfolio
  • Secure innovation and applicable IPRs within Energy Performance
  • Build and continuously develop an internal and external network of relevant contact points and keep up with industry standard methodologies in the area
  • Keep up to date with research in the area and facilitate collaboration with universities
  • Facilitate internal knowledge sharing in the technology area

To be successful in the role you must have

  • An education of at least a M.Sc. in Telecommunication or similar area
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience within telecommunication
  • Solid knowledge and deep understanding of RAN Energy Performance domain, including but not limited to HW and SW interaction, Radio and Base Band interaction and principals of Energy Efficient Radio Access Networks
  • The Principal Developer shall be able to lead product HW and SW evolution to support future development, define principles and roadmap to support technical enablers
  • The ability to move between high level abstraction and detailed implementation
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Documented innovations skills
