Background

For ASICs in low technology nodes, or ASICs with Analog on top, communication between parts of the design may face issues with wide communication channels. A way to solve the issue is to create low-signal count communication channels. However, there is no standard solution for this particular issue.

Thesis Description

The goal of a thesis work in explore the issue seen in many ASICs, with wide uni-directional or bi-directional communication channels. Explore possible solutions that will override the seen problem, and propose solutions. Compare them with performance factors like routing, speed, area etc.

Qualifications

This project aims at Master students in electrical/computer engineering, computer science or similar. Background in ASIC design, Python and Tcl scripting for EDA tools is preferred.
