Interested to lead in cloud-native technologies?

Excellent, as we are now looking for a creative, energetic, out-of-the-box leader to join us in PDU Cloud RAN.

In parallel with the initial rollout of 5G networks around the world, the interest in hardware and software disaggregation and virtualization of Radio Access Networks (RAN) and the use of open, standardized, RAN interfaces is growing. Ericsson have closely followed this technology evolution over the past years and have now launched Cloud RAN.

The pace of innovation of cloud technologies is super high, and we want to be in the forefront - this means that you will also drive Cloud Native principles into the product requirements and need to be on top of the latest trends!

In a Cloud RAN deployment, the RAN service will run on a 3PP customer owned and/or on a hyperscale cloud infrastructure. The E2E performance of the Cloud RAN will by default be compared with the embedded RAN.

To prepare for the changes this implies we are now forming a Strategic E2E System Performance unit. The team will work with E2E product performance and characteristics cross the development projects.

You will

  • Define requirements on the performance with regards to traffic, OAM, footprint, usability and easy of deployment.
  • Analyze Cloud RAN product performs in relation to requirement and customer expectations/contracts, in lab, field trials and customer networks
  • Identify near time activity plans (parameters, fixes) as well as outline the strategic direction and R&D choices in form of a technical roadmap to identify new requirements
  • Support SPM in customer discussions with regards to performance

PDU Cloud RAN is a small development unit and you will be part of a highly energetic and tech-focused team, defining midterm product development strategies and systemization for the virtualized product offering.

  • You will be part of the System Architecture Strategy & Project Office Leadership team.

You will build up and lead a small dedicated E2E strategic system team that will lead the journey of the Cloud RAN E2E System Performance. Ensuring we as a company succeeds in delivering a cloud-native RAN offering to our customers, including:

  • Driving the overall Cloud RAN E2E System Performance journey, working closely with systems leads in each of the other functional units within Cloud RAN and other relevant groups within Ericsson
  • Using AI/ML analytics (tools, data lake, data collections other) to secure an efficient analysis of E2E system performance in lab, field tests and from customer networks. This is done in cooperation with other relevant groups within Ericsson
  • Driving the definitions and alignment of the characteristics requirement KPIs and system performance indications for E2E Cloud RAN
  • Visualization of the E2E system performance from lab, customer and field trials
  • Secure performance parameter settings in guidelines and CPIs
  • Engaging in fulfilling customer expectations, in terms of performance,
  • You will work closely towards design units as well as our market areas and customer units as well as Ericsson's lead customers as it relates to this domain.
