Our Exciting Opportunity

Business Area Networks: where 5G was born! We're a global team of approximately 30,000 in 93 countries, with 126 nationalities represented. About half of us work in R&D, approx. 6,000 in Group Supply and 5,000 in Service Area Networks. Together we create future-proof, scalable network architectures in an industry that is constantly on the move. Our approach is simple: we build solutions that empower our customers to meet tomorrow's demands. 5G is happening now, with the first commercial launches implemented today.

Cloud Native 5G RAN @ PDU Cloud RAN

The organization Product Development Unit (PDU) Cloud Radio Access Network (RAN) within Business Unit Networks aims to work closely with our customers, focused on delivery of virtualized RAN solutions.

We try to accelerate the product development with new fresh thinking. We challenge established flow with new methodologies and are active in the open source communities

You will

Be actively engaged in the architecture definition and proactively drive the implementation of NR Radio Management functions running on the Virtual DU side, in particular:

  • Be able to deliver scalability, resilience and performance by taking full advantage of the evolving architectural and services inherent to a Cloud Native Platform
  • Strive for delivery of product and test code that improves the advantages of a DevOps infrastructure
  • Foster a systematization and implementation that enable rapid feature parity in a Stand Alone and Hybrid network environment


To be successful in the role you must have

  • The ability to develop and deploy embedded type of SW, on a COTS HW. (COTS meaning x86, AMD, GPU or other HW, which can be deployed in a Cloud environment.)
  • Deep understanding of Linux, and how to use DPDK and smart Network Interface cards (smart NIC) as a mean to optimize the data processing path.
  • Experience working with Cloud Native core design principles - microservices, containers, pods, Master/worker nodes is a strong asset
  • Experience developing through the Cloud Native Development Pipeline principles and tools - CI/CD (DevOps), Jenkins, Spinnaker is a strong asset.
  • An innovative mentality and collaborative approach.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • BSc or MSc degree in a SW related field.
