Our Exciting Opportunity

It will be practically impossible for human brains to understand how to run and optimize next generation of wireless networks, i.e., 5G network with distributed edge compute, that will drive economic and social transformation for all aspects of society. Machine Learning (ML) and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies will be vital for us to handle this opportunity. We have established a Global AI Accelerator (GAIA) in the US, Sweden and India, with 300 authorities, to fast-track our strategy execution.

Within the GAIA, there is a unit for ML/AI Systems & Services (MASS), with teams in Sweden, US, and India. GAIA MASS is developing components and systems, based on open source, to be integrated into Ericsson product and services. These components are enabling the entire life-cycle management of AI/ML, ensuring security, performance, scalability and reliability.

We are now looking for a Product Owner - GAIA MASS MXE, the position is placed in Stockholm, reporting to Head of GAIA MASS Sweden.

Job Summary

As Product Owner - GAIA MASS MXE, you are a crucial part of the product development team for the cross-Ericsson AI/ML Platforms. MXE is an aligned set of AI/ML platform components for all Ericsson products and services, covering all phases of the ML Life-cycle (MLOps); exploration, training, pipelines, serving, monitoring. The Product Owner works as a counterpart to the MXE Design Owner, and is responsible for stakeholder interaction, requirement gathering and prioritization, product life-cycle management, and product strategy.

You will

  • Plan product strategy, roadmap, life-cycle management, and requirement handling for the Ericsson-wide AI/ML Platforms, including release processes, 3rd party/open source management, and software support
  • Be responsible for cross-Ericsson stakeholder relationships for the AI/ML Platforms, including evangelism, requirement prioritization, setting roadmaps, and building communities across platform users and product management in all Ericsson business units
  • Creation of outside-in industry analysis and benchmarking, open source landscape analysis, make-or-buy analysis
  • Contribute to evolution of Ericsson-wide strategy for AI/ML

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related subject areas from any of the reputed institutes
  • Minimum 10+ years of proven experience with global software product management and R&D
  • Proven track record of delivering market-leading products and solutions
  • Familiarity and understanding of the full AI and Machine Learning development and deployment lifecycle
  • Good insight and deep understanding of software/system R&D, product development and deployment of software products and systems
  • Experience working with stakeholders and internal customers across a broad product and services portfolio, including building communities and alignment, requirement, and roadmap definitions
  • Experience with cloud technology platforms (e.g. Kubernetes) and associated development and delivery processes, including 3PP and partnering; experience with working with cloud providers (e.g. Azure, AWS, and GCP)
  • Background with open-source software ecosystems and impacts on product strategy
  • Know-how of security, compliance, and audit processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in English, written and oral
